If you are lost, hurt or stranded somewhere, signaling others may be your key to survival. And you do not have to be in a jungle or other remote location to be in need of assistance. Recently, a couple in Kentucky ran off a well-traveled highway and their car went down the embankment trapping them there. Sadly, the woman died and it took the man several days to crawl out. So what can you do to maximize your chance of survival? A mirror or other shiny object like a belt buckle, piece of broken glass, top of a can lid, or even a CD can reflect the rays of the sun improving your chance to be seen. Remember to always be creative and not desperate if you find yourself in a survival situation.
